How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

Anti-wrinkle treatment injections is a term used for botulinum toxin injections, there are various brands of botumlinum toxin injections; Botox, Azzalure and Bocoture. Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals to muscles and preventing them from moving. With this lack of movement it helps to soften existing fine lines and wrinkles and preventing further ones from forming.

Will I need a consultation before my treatment?

Botulinum toxin injections are a prescription only medication and it is vital for you to attend a prescription consultation appointment prior to ensure it is safe for you to receive the treatment. During the consultation appointment you will meet our independent nurse prescriber and we will take a detailed account of your medical history.

What area's can I have treated?

​

Area's which can be treated are forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet.

How long does the treatment take and is it painful?

 

The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and is virtually painless as we use the finest needles.

Will I see results straight away and how long do the results last?

​

Botulinum toxin injections can take up to two weeks to fully take effect and you have to attend a two week review appointment following treatment. Results can last up to 3 months but it is important to remember everyone is different and lifestyle factors can effect how botulinum toxin is metabolised.

What am I able to do after my treatment?

 

You can return to work straight after your treatment. 

Your aftercare will be fully discussed before your treatment and an aftercare leaflet will be given for your reference when you leave.
